Imagine a cool crisp November morning; the sun just coming over the horizon and cackling pheasants in the distance.  Your dog working the cover obeying your commands; Hand Signals, Whistle and Verbal Commands; then suddenly, wham, locked up on point.  You give an extra "Whoa" command and then crash into the cover just in front of your dog. While the dog doesn't flinch, being Staunch On Point,  a big rooster pheasant suddenly bursts from the cover. You then level off, while your dog being Steady To Wing, stays steady, giving you a safe and clear shot;  fire, taking the bird with an excellent shot.  The bird then crashes to the ground, all the while your dog continues to stay steady, being Steady To Shot .  You then give the "Fetch" command and your dog goes out and retrieves the downed bird to hand.  What a thrill and memories that will last a lifetime !!

Joe,

I wanted to tell you about my trip to Kansas with my Dad to hunt wild birds.
On the day I picked "Pike" up after Training, you and I had a great day at the shooting club.  Having "Pike" be solid on Point, Retrieve multiple times and overall be so Responsive to all your Commands, made me really excited about the upcoming trip.

I was afraid my expectations were so high, that "Pike" might not be able to live up to them.  No need to worry, "Pike" came through extremely well !
On wild Quail and Pheasants he was completely solid on his Points.  He hunted hard all day for 3 solid days and was never more than 30 - 40 yards away, just as I wanted !

"Pike" responded to hand signals as to direction and hunted like a much more experienced dog in the way he Quartered and covered the hunting area.  I was always in complete control of the dog.

Best of all, he was fantastic at finding dead and crippled birds.  He was very persistent.

"Pike" was pointing a small clump of grass no bigger than a pie plate in grass no more than 6 inches high.  I kicked the grass, nothing.  "Pike" is still Pointing, not moving an inch.  I finally started running my hands through the grass and managed to find and move the crippled bird out of the grass.

My Dad, who has owned and trained bird dogs for more than 50 years said, " Son, you have got yourself a bird dog ! "  I feel the same way.

"Pike's" retrieving still needs some work but I know some more experience and repetition will help with that issue.

For a pup not yet 10 months old, I considered this a tremendous performance !

"Pike" came from good breeding stock but it was your Training, Joe, that pulled it all together and made "Pike" a wonderful hunting companion at such a young age !!

I would be happy to serve as a reference to any prospective clients !

Thanks Joe
